2021 Agility Trial Update

From Facebook:

“We wanted to provide a bit of an update on the 2021 Trial Season. We are working very hard to best determine how, when, and where we can move forward safely with our scheduled trials in coming months. We want to provide some insight into how we are making these decisions and what we are planning for to help keep you, our valued agility community, informed.

At this point, we have cancelled our trial scheduled for April. We plan to make a decision about the May trial by April 1st, and the Regional (scheduled for July) by May 1st.

Until the time at which we make a decision we will be evaluating the effect of state guidance and restrictions, stay at home orders, gathering restrictions, travel restrictions, CDC guidance, local Board of Health policies, etc. on the trial, participants, and travel options. We are planning to continue to hold trials at WWIS – and are working closely with them to keep things safe.

We are working on creating clear policies including mask policies (requiring at minimum 2 layer cloth mask that covers the nose and mouth correctly and not allowing mesh masks, gaiters, or other ineffective face coverings), social distance policies (including no spectators). We are planning to allow some indoor crating options for dogs only but will evaluate this as more information becomes available. We are planning to provide outdoor crating/tenting along the grass for safety. We are still getting up to speed on the food situation but we are anticipating that competitors may need to rely on curbside pickup or food delivery services such as DoorDash.

We hope to hold our trials but want to make sure that if they are held we are in compliance with all guidelines and provide the safest environment possible for all competitors. No doubt things will look different this year, we thank you in advance for your patience and support as we continue to evaluate our options.”
