Companion Obedience and Agility: Joan Lawson Joan has been involved with dog training all of her adult life. Starting out owning a grooming shop, she groomed dogs for 23 yrs. During those years she spent her spare time training and competing with her border collies in competition obedience, putting Obedience Trail Championships on all three of them (Catcher, Sprint, and Target) as well as perfect scores of 200 on all three. After starting up "Riverside Canine Center" in 1998, Joan became involved in dog agility and to date has 4 MACH'S (Master Agility Championship) on Target and Sketch, and 5 ADCH'S (Agility Dog Championship) on Sketch, Trace, Player, Epic and Metro (who also has earned his ADCH Bronze). Joan's youngest border collie Fresco will be starting his career soon. Joan is the instructor for the Companion dog obedience classes, as well as the Beg. 1 thru competition agility classes. Joan is also available for private lessons during the day. Joan also breeds a few litters of border collies from time to time under the name Wayside Border Collies.
