Puppy Kindergarten For Puppies 8 weeks old to 4 months. Puppies start each class with a play group, allowing them to interact with other pups in the class. Owners and children are encouraged to pet and treat all the puppies, during these play sessions. Using treats and games, we also do some very basic obedience; sits, downs, stands and stays and lots of fun recalls. There are discussions on puppy issues, such as biting, chewing, jumping up and suggestions are given to help with these behaviors. For more information please contact us. Or to Register for class, check out our online Registration Forms.
Obedience for Real Life -- Beginner I
In this class the dogs are taught how to walk on a leash without pulling. They are also taught to sit and stay, down and stay and to come quickly when called. Also discussed is basic pet "etiquette" and home issues.
On the first night of class, all the dogs are fitted with obedience training collars, which are provided by Riverside K9 Center, and the owners are shown how to use them correctly. These collars are checked weekly for fit and are adjusted as needed.
The instructor uses positive motivation; in the form of play, lots of praise, and treats to help encourage the dogs to learn the exercises. The dogs in this class should be 6 months old or older. Since this is a group class, it is not the place for aggressive dogs.
For more information please contact us. Or to Register for class, check out our online Registration Forms.
