Competition Novice Class
Is for dogs working toward or competiting in novice level AKC obedience. Dogs and handlers work on heeling exercises, figure 8's, fronts, finishes, recalls and sits and downs. Motivational training is stressed. This is not a clicker class but clickers can be used. Dogs and handlers should have completed a beginner attention class as well as an advanced attention class to be ready for the novice class.

Open/utility
Is group heeling, figure 8's, and we alternate each week and concentrate on either open or utility for that night. Motivational training (tug toys and treats) and distractions are used.

Weekly drop ins are allowed for novice class and open/utility. The 2 attention classes run for 8 weeks each and always run back to back, so a new attention class starts every 4 months or so.

Competition Obedience.

Instructor -- Pat Scribner
Pat has been in competitive obedience for 10 years. Four of her dogs have earned Obedience Trial Championships; another is currently competing for his OTCH. Her first utility dog, Zeke earned his Otch in 2001, his son, Token earned his in 2002, G'day's came in 2003. Yippee earned his in 2006. Pat is a person that really enjoys training her dogs and showing them off.

Her dogs are also in training for hunt tests. Three are currently competing at the Master level and the others are at various stages of training. One is just chasing paint rollers.

She admits that she is the proud owner of eight Golden Retrievers. Her husband is a very supportive believer in whatever she does with their dogs. He is even a believer when she tells him they just followed her home.
